He can play a pretty good solo...

Check out Bobby in this video, especially that first solo of his. Makes you wonder why he doesn't whip out leads like that more often. He's really got some groovy stuff goin on there.

Cool video... What Bobby plays during his solo is essentially what he would play with the GD while backing Jerry.

Bobby's best soloing work can be found '70-'74. Easy Wind, China>Rider, Hard to Handle, Casey Jones, and though I wouldn't call his stuff on Cold Rain and Snow a solo, he is usually playing something really interesting behind Garcia's chords.
